The Dating Project Terms of Service

 

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to The Dating Project ("The Dating Project," "Company," "we," "our," or "us").

By accessing or using our website, mobile application, community platform, matchmaking services, SpeedMeet events, memberships, AI-powered tools, messaging features, or any related products and services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").

2. Eligibility

To use our Services, you must:

  • Be at least eighteen (18) years old.

  • Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.

Accounts found to belong to individuals under eighteen (18) years of age may be suspended or permanently removed without notice.

  • SpeedMeet speed dating events

The Dating Project facilitates introductions and opportunities for connection but does not guarantee any particular outcome.

4. No Matchmaking or Relationship Guarantees

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • We do not guarantee that you will receive matches.

  • We do not guarantee the quality, quantity, compatibility, availability, or responsiveness of any member.

  • We do not guarantee romantic relationships, friendships, marriages, dates, or any other result.

  • Match percentages, compatibility scores, recommendations, and AI-generated insights are informational tools only and should not be relied upon as guarantees of compatibility.

  • Participation in our Services does not guarantee success in dating or relationships.

 

5. User Accounts

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

  • Providing accurate and truthful information.

  • Updating information when necessary.

  • All activity occurring under your account.

You may not:

  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions.

  • Share your account with another individual.

  • Impersonate another person.

  • Provide false information regarding age, identity, relationship status, or other material facts.

 

6. Memberships and Subscriptions

Certain Services may be offered through recurring memberships or subscriptions.

By purchasing a subscription, you authorize recurring billing using your selected payment method.

Unless otherwise disclosed:

  • Subscriptions automatically renew.

  • You may cancel future renewals at any time.

  • Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing period.

  • Membership benefits expire according to the applicable membership terms.

Pricing and membership benefits may change at any time.

 

7. Events and Event Participation

Participation is subject to event-specific rules and eligibility requirements.

Event attendance does not guarantee introductions, matches, conversations, or connections.

 

8. Participant Conduct

You agree to treat all members respectfully.

You may not:

  • Harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse others.

  • Send unwanted sexual content.

  • Engage in discriminatory conduct.

  • Use the Services for commercial solicitation.

  • Share another person's private information without consent.

  • Engage in fraudulent or deceptive conduct.

  • Circumvent platform safeguards or moderation processes.

 

Violations may result in suspension or termination.

 

9. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of content you submit.

By posting or submitting content through our Services, you grant The Dating Project a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, modify, and distribute such content in connection with operating and promoting the Services.

You represent that you possess all rights necessary to submit such content.

We reserve the right to remove content at our sole discretion.

 

10. Content Monitoring

The Dating Project may monitor, review, investigate, and moderate user-generated content and communications for safety, compliance, and operational purposes.

We reserve the right to remove content or restrict accounts that violate our policies.

Monitoring does not guarantee detection or prevention of all misconduct.

 

11. Safety Disclaimer

The Dating Project does not conduct comprehensive background checks on all users.

We do not verify:

  • Criminal history

  • Relationship status

  • Financial status

  • Character references

  • Personal intentions

 

You are solely responsible for evaluating the suitability of individuals you choose to interact with.

You should exercise appropriate caution when communicating with or meeting other users.

 

12. Human Trafficking, Exploitation, and Safety Policy

The Dating Project is committed to providing a safe environment for all members, event participants, and users of our Services. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward human trafficking, sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, coercion, abuse, harassment, prostitution, solicitation of commercial sex acts, or any other unlawful activity.

Users may not use our website, mobile application, community platform, messaging systems, events, matchmaking services, memberships, or any other Services to engage in, facilitate, promote, solicit, or support illegal activity of any kind.

 

To help protect our community, The Dating Project maintains internal safety and reporting procedures designed to identify, review, investigate, and respond to suspicious behavior or potential violations of this policy. Such procedures may include:

  • Review of user reports and complaints;

  • Investigation of suspicious account activity;

  • Monitoring and moderation of content and communications where permitted by law;

  • Temporary suspension or restriction of accounts pending review;

  • Permanent removal of users who violate these Terms or pose a risk to the safety of others.

 

If The Dating Project reasonably suspects that human trafficking, sex trafficking, exploitation, coercion, abuse, grooming, solicitation, or any other criminal activity has occurred or is occurring, we reserve the right to:

  • Immediately suspend or terminate the associated account(s);

  • Remove individuals from events, communities, or Services;

  • Preserve relevant account, registration, communication, and transaction records;

  • Report suspected activity to appropriate local, state, or federal law enforcement authorities;

  • Cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations, subpoenas, court orders, and other lawful requests.

 

Users are encouraged to report suspicious, unlawful, threatening, or concerning behavior through our contact page or by contacting our support team.

 

In the event of an emergency or immediate threat to personal safety, users should contact 911 or their local law enforcement agency directly.

 

Any violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of access to the Services without refund.

13. Payments and Refunds

All purchases are subject to our Refund Policy.

Unless otherwise required by law or expressly stated:

  • Payments are non-refundable.

  • Unused memberships, credits, and event registrations are non-transferable.

  • Credits may expire according to published policies.

 

Chargebacks initiated in bad faith may result in account termination.

All content, trademarks, logos, software, designs, branding, text, graphics, and materials provided by The Dating Project are owned by or licensed to The Dating Project.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit any materials without written permission.

 

15. Privacy

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

By using the Services, you consent to the collection, processing, and storage of information as described in that policy.

 

16. Media Release

By participating in events, you grant The Dating Project permission to use photographs, recordings, screenshots, testimonials, and related media containing your likeness for promotional, educational, and marketing purposes without compensation unless prohibited by law.

 

17. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Services at any time for:

  • Violations of these Terms.

  • Safety concerns.

  • Fraudulent activity.

  • Abuse of the platform.

  • Conduct harmful to members or The Dating Project.

 

Termination may occur without prior notice.

 

18. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available."

The Dating Project disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

 

19. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

The Dating Project, its owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, volunteers, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from use of the Services.

 

Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the Services is to discontinue use.

Our maximum aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you to The Dating Project during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

 

20. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Dating Project and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Services.

  • Your interactions with other users.

  • Your violation of these Terms.

  • Your violation of applicable law.

 

21. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

 

22. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Continued use of the Services following publication of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
